ויקטור / ויטיה / אביגדור בלט רינדר ז"לVictor (Avigdor) Blatt Rinder R.I.P. (1930-2010)Germany > Israel > New York > Haifaויקטור בלט רינדר, בן זינה ואלכסנדר, נולד בגרמניה ב-30 ביולי, 1930. משפחתו נמלטה מהשלטון הנאצי והגיעה לישראל. ויקטור (שם החיבה המשפחתי שלו היה ויטיה) היגר לארה''ב, התאזרח כאמריקני, גר בניו-יורק ועבד בחברת המחשבים איי-בי-אם (IBM), המכונה בישראל "יבמ". לאחר מכן חזר לישראל, עיברת את שמו ל'אביגדור', וגר מרבית חייו עם אימו בדירה בשדרות וודג'ווד, מרכז הכרמל, חיפה. ויטיה נפטר בביתו ב-3 ביולי, 2010, שבועות ספורים לפני יום הולדתו ה-80. נקבר בבית עלמין תל-רגב. ויטיה היה אדם משכיל ורחב אופקים. חובב מוסיקה מושבע, שהלך לקונצרטים רבים ואסף מאות תקליטים, קלטות ודיסקים של מוסיקה קלאסית וג'אז. בין תחביביו הנוספים - מערכות סטריאו (הוא היה אודיופיל ומומחה סאונד), ספנות, מחשבים ורדיו. אמנם לא היה לו קשר-דם למשפחת ברייטמן, אך הוא היה לנו כמו משפחה - הדוד ויטיה ממרכז הכרמל. | ||
  Victor Blatt Rinder, son of Zina and Alexander, was born in Germany on July 30, 1930. His family fled the Nazi regime and arrived in Israel. Victor (his family nickname was always Vitya) emigrated to the United States, naturalized as an American citizen, lived in New York City, and worked at the computer company, IBM. Then he returned to Israel, changed his Hebrew name to Avigdor, and lived most of his life with his mother, at a small flat in Wedgewood Avenue, Carmel Center, Haifa. Vitya never married and didh't have any kids. Vitya died at his home on July 3, 2010, a few weeks before his 80th birthday. Vitya is buried in a Tel Regev cemetery. Vitya was well-educated and broad-minded. An avid music lover, who went to many concerts and collected hundreds of vinyl records, audio tapes and CDs of classical music and jazz. Among Vitya's other hobbies: Hi-Fi stereos (he was a true audiophile), ship-building, computers and radio. While Vitya never had a real blood relation to the Breitman family in Haifa, he was part of the family for us: the sharp-eared uncle from Carmel, who knew so much about America and the world. We shall miss him greatly. | ||
